Hey, I’m Karen!
Yep… the crazy lady behind the camera that will do just about anything for the perfect shot. Hanging out a truck window? Laying in the dirt? Making weird noises to get kids to smile? Absolutely. Welcome to Karen Keller Photography.
Karen Keller Photography is a woman-ran, ass-kicking business that I take SO much pride in. This business is a huge part of my life, and honestly… my whole family is all in too, which makes it even better.
Not only do we take photos, but we also have THREE photo booths because apparently I don’t know how to sit still and just have one business idea at a time. We love bringing fun into every event and making sure people leave with memories and probably a few embarrassing photos too.
Now let’s be honest here… I’m not your super quiet photographer standing in the corner politely nodding. I’m the photographer that will tell ya, “Girl… I don’t love that shirt choice,” or tell your husband, “Suck it up buttercup, we’re taking the photo.” And honestly? That’s why my clients become family. Sessions around here are fun, loud, laid back, and FULL of laughing.
My business is very much run like a mom business because at the end of the day, my kiddos come first. And balancing all of this can be HARD because I truly love what I do so dang much. Editing season around here is basically caffeine, BUILT bars, chaos, late nights, and me saying “just one more gallery” about 47 times.
Speaking of family… I probably should introduce them.
My hubby and I have been married for 12 years — which honestly feels like forever but also five minutes at the same time. We have two kick-ass kids, Macie (11) and Mac (9), who keep life wild and busy in the best way possible.
We are BIG into farming, livestock, and show life. One day we dream of having all the animals and the farm setup we constantly drool over watching everyone else have. We’ll get there someday — I’ve got faith.
Of course both kids are into sports too, so our schedules are basically one giant mush of practices, games, editing, hauling kids, livestock shows, coffee runs, and trying to remember what day it even is.
And my husband? Yeah… he’s kinda cute too. He now works side-by-side with my family on the farm which has been different (in a good way I think!).
At the end of the day, our favorite thing is just hanging out with our people. We’ve got one of those friend groups that just works — the kind where everyone shows up for each other no matter what.
Photography for me has never been about perfectly posed photos or pretending life is flawless. I love the real stuff. The laughs. The chaos. The awkward moments. The loud personalities. The sports kids. The livestock families. The seniors figuring out who they are. The parents trying not to cry watching their babies grow up.
That’s the stuff that matters to me.
So whether you’re here for senior pictures, sports media days, livestock sessions, family photos, or one of our photo booths — I’m just glad you’re here.
And I can’t wait to meet ya.
Cheers to my first Blog post ( think thats what this is called!)
